Anna Nokes, LCSW

Welcome! I’m Anna Nokes (she/they), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois (#149024417) and I specialize in fat liberation & eating disorders, religious trauma & complex trauma, and neurodivergence. I have experience working with clients in community mental health settings, as well as group practice settings focusing on the areas listed above. My populations of interest are teens (12+), college students, and young adults.

I work from a somatic based approach as a way to help create a mind-body connection. I utilize attachment-based therapy to help clients heal from trauma and begin to create stronger and healthier relationships with their loved ones. I bring my whole self into the work I do by utilizing compassion and humor. Relational therapy is the core of what I practice as I believe the relationship between the client and the therapist is what brings healing.

As someone who has sat on the other side of the room, I know firsthand that healing is possible. Maybe you’re tired of feeling alone or maybe you’re tired of living a life unaligned with your values. Together, we can help you heal and begin creating the life you want to live. I’d be honored to hold space for you as you find your way back Home to Your Body.

The identities I hold that are important to this work are being fat, neurodivergent (AuDHD), a person with lived experience of mental health and eating disorder challenges, a trauma survivor, queer, and non-binary.
